From worn to hunk that horn

I think if have a fear of letting go of things, or maybe I’m just really bad of throwing things out. The mistery will probably be solved, when i one day end up on extreme hoarders. But until then I will just redo my old and not so usable items into something fabulous, or you know slightly more usable.

 Well this time i tried to save a beloved dear of mine, and I ended up remaking my old Vans into something out of this world, aka galaxy shoes. Oh how I have loved those shoes, I thought that we were meant to be together forever, but then suddenly they just decided to die on me. It truly was a sad day, and even though they had holes and the color defiantly had seen better days, I kept them. So now one year later, I have wiped the dust off them and gotten to work.

I started off by putting tape on the sole, so I wouldn’t get any unwanted paint splattered on it. Then I got my medium gel out and started to repair the holes, don’t worry about it not being pretty, it will be covered in paint anyways. While that was drying I got out my paint, I just used acrylic, but textile will defiantly be a better choice. The range of colors that is used was: Blue, black, red and white. From these I mixed different colors, because my shoe was blue from the start I didn’t have to cover it up as much, but I would start out with a blue or purple for the base. After that I just played around with the different colors and switch between using a brush and a sponge. For the finishing touch I added stars, I just dipped a toothbrush in the white paint and splattered it on. You can also add a few Disney like stars, by taking a thin brush and paint them on. Then I just removed the tape and voila I just got an almost brand new pair of shoes!

The Trevor Project

I have always been a sucker for fundraisers, and well this time it wasn’t any different. I wasn’t familiar with The Trevor Project before Tyler Oakley addressed it in one of his videos, and well after that short introduction this little detective got to work or you know googled it.
The Trevor Project is a non-profit organization that focuses on suicide prevention efforts among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth (LGBTQ). Even though I’m straight as a ruler and have no idea how hard it can be not to be supported in your sexuality, I do know that everybody should have somebody to turn to in time of crisis and assure them that they’re perfect just the way they are.
So I didn’t think twice before I found my card and donated. I believe that every little bit helps, so instead of just brushing it of by thinking that somebody else will do it, take action and donate just a small amount and save lives.
To make people more interested in donating, Tyler Oakley has put up a reward of a date with him in L.A for you and a friend. So that’s another great reason to donate to this amazing organization.

And now for a 180 degree turn I will throughout the next couple of days be posting a sorta DIY project of mine, it’s not an original idea but I want to show you anyways. I will probably also post a review of an ombre kit sooner or later.

You can never be to generouse

The other day, i had to take the train so i could attend my driving lesson. I don't enjoy going on the train because for starters it ain't cheap and frankly it's quit boring as well. The whole way threw I just told myself, Emilie when you get your driver’s license you will never go on that train again, you will be driving around in your own little Porsche 911 carrera, flashing your million dollar smile and singing “they see me rolling, they hating” to the world! But who was I kidding, I will probably ride that damn thing, more than I do now, because as a broke student, the chances of me just affording gas for my parents car is pretty damn small.
So after my driver’s lesson I found myself standing on the train-station again, ready to buy my ticket. I sadly looked at the old one, only bought and hour before, and a light appeared, it was still valid! Even though I was tempted to do a little happy dance on the overly crowed station, I stood still and waited. When a pink train appeared on the tracks, I saw every single person around me light up into a smile, because where we expected the normal boring blue train, we got a pink one with the words on the side “You can never be too generous”
Inside the train the usually grumpy ticket attendant was smiling, and I couldn’t help to get a little suspicious. A few minutes later, he came around with a box with chocolate and offered every passenger a chocolate bar and wishing them a nice day.
And even though I’m allergic to almonds and wasn’t able to eat the chocolate with marzipan from Anthon Berg, it brought a huge smile to my face, and I went home, like I’m sure many others that day did, happy and with the realization that you can never be too generous!
I’m not saying, go out and give a load of chocolate to strangers, but sometimes the small things is the deal breaker.
But if you’re single and good looking I’m pretty sure that giving away chocolate is a totally underrated way to pick up someone.
Because who can say no to chocolate?
